Updating your Planned Arrival Date on the Portal

As a Direct Placement, you must update your planned arrival date in the 'Profile' section of your Camp Canada account as soon as you have finalized your travel plans. You must do so, as we prepare your work permit documents based on your confirmed arrival date.

Should you not provide us with your arrival date, we will prepare your paperwork in time for your contract start date instead, and you run the risk of not receiving your paperwork in time for your travels.

Can I arrive early in Canada before my Contract Start Date?

Your work permit typically covers only the duration of your employment in Canada and arriving significantly earlier than these dates could lead to some questions from the immigration officer when you land in Canada.

It is at the sole discretion of the immigration officer that your work permit is issued, and on some occasions, participants were entered as a visitor because they were arriving significantly earlier than the start of their camp contract.

If this is the case, and your work permit is not granted, you would need to leave Canada and re-enter at a US land border to apply for and obtain your work permit.
