Emergency Border Support Line

4 min. readlast update: 05.12.2026

The Camp Canada Emergency Border Support Line is a dedicated resource reserved strictly for urgent, time-sensitive situations that cannot wait for standard business hours.

This line is specifically designed to assist First Time and Direct Placement participants who are currently at the border facing immediate immigration or work permit crises, as well as First Time participants who are departing their camp property unexpectedly outside of our regular office hours. To ensure we can help those in true distress, we kindly ask that you review this guide before calling.

For all non-urgent matters, including general work permit questions, travel updates, or administrative issues - please contact our team during business hours (Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM ET). You can reach us via email at communitysuccess@campcanada.ca for First Time participants, directplacementsupport@campcanada.ca for Direct Placements, or workpermits@campcanada.ca for specific permit inquiries.

If you meet the emergency criteria, you can reach the support line at +1 416-932-1370.

When should I call the Emergency Border Support Line for Work Permit issues?

DO CALL if you are:

  • At the border and being denied entry into Canada or your work permit.

  • At the airport and notice an error on your permit or forgot to obtain it before leaving the immigration area.

  • Being asked to pay the $155 fee despite having a "Fee Exemption" letter.

  • Unable to board your flight due to a permit-related complication.

  • At the border and realized you do not have your physical permit documentation.

DO NOT CALL if you:

  • Forgot to ask for extra time on your permit (we can help you switch to visitor status later).

  • Did not have biometrics taken (this is common and saves you money).

  • Are experiencing long wait times at immigration.

  • Have already left the airport (please email workpermits@campcanada.ca instead).

I am a First Time Participant quitting or being fired—when is this an emergency?

DO CALL if you:

  • Are leaving camp property immediately and it is outside of business hours, and you do not have a safe place to stay or a travel plan.

  • Have experienced a situation that puts your mental or physical safety in immediate danger outside of business hours.

DO NOT CALL if you:

  • Are leaving camp but it is currently during our business hours (call the office instead).

  • Are unhappy at camp, having administrative issues, or need general wellbeing support. Please email wellbeing@campcanada.ca and a team member will reach out during office hours.

What should I do if I have travel, luggage, or airport kiosk issues?

DO NOT CALL. These issues do not impact your work permit status.

  • Luggage/Kiosks: Please speak directly with airport staff for assistance.

  • Missed Flights: Coordinate with airport staff for rebooking and notify your camp immediately of your new arrival time.

I am sick, injured, or need my insurance information. Who do I call?

DO NOT CALL the emergency line.

For Medical Emergencies: Please seek immediate medical attention or go to the nearest hospital.

  • For Insurance Info: Review your Camp Canada insurance documents and contact our insurance partner directly for coverage details.

I have questions about my Social Insurance Number (SIN) or Bank Account.

DO NOT CALL.

SIN Issues: If you missed the clinic or are having application trouble, call 1-866-274-6627 or apply online 3-5 days after arrival.

  • Banking/Wise: For card or deposit issues, contact the Wise support line or your specific bank’s helpline.

What if I have issues with my Work Permit Extension or expiration?

DO NOT CALL.

If your permit has already expired or you missed the filing deadline, you must stop working and leave Canada by the date listed on your permit.

  • For help with active applications or switching to visitor status, email workpermits@campcanada.ca for support during business hours.
