Below are some of the supporting documents that you will need to upload and submit with your online work permit application to IRCC. We recommend that you start preparing these documents early to help you save time later when it’s time for you to complete and submit your application.
- Employment Reference Letter - This should be from your employers over the last 2 years. If you are a student and have not been employed, please provide this information with documentation from your school regarding your current program.
- Letter from Current Employer - This should state your current position and salary. Again, if you are a student and do not have a current employer, please upload a letter from your school indicating your program and studies.
- Employment Records - Similar to employment documents mentioned above. Should match the employment history listed on your application. *We understand that it might be difficult for some people to gather all of this information. This document is not specific to the Camp Counsellor work permit, but it is a document that needs to be submitted in order to move forward in the process. Please do the best you can with this.
- There is some overlap in the three documents above. If you prefer, you can upload the same document more than once to cover 2 or 3 of these required documents, as long as all of the information requested is present.
- Passport - Please provide the information page on your passport as well as any other pages with markings, visas, or stamps.
- CV/resume - This document should list your education, qualifications and employment as necessary. This is not for employment purposes. We recommend explaining any significant gaps in your resume when you were not working or in school (e.g. unemployment, travelling, etc).
- Proof that you meet the Requirements of the Job Being Offered - Please create a document that describes any experience that would help with your role at camp. This should also match what is in the resume you provided.
- Proof of Funds - We recommend adding a document to show what funds you will be using to support yourself with your travels. This should begin with a write-up from you describing how you will do this, along with some proof of your funds. You may also want to include that your camp will provide room and board during your employment, if applicable. Examples of proof of funds may include bank statements, pay stubs from a current employer, or a letter from a third party (e.g parent) to show that they will be funding your experience.
- Proof of Residency (if applicable) - If your country of residence differs from the citizenship on your passport, please provide proof of your legal status in your country of residence.
