Why do I need a police check?

To take part in the Camp Canada program we need you to have a clean criminal background

The way we confirm this is for you to undergo a criminal background check and upload your certificate to your profile. The certificate should be from your home country, as well as any other country you have lived in for more than six consecutive months since the age of 18.

The certificate must be valid from September 1st of the season you are applying. There may be exceptions for individuals who deferred from previous seasons, and this will be determined on a case-by-case basis.

When applying for your police check, they may ask you for an offer of employment, registration or contract from the requesting organisation. You can use the Camp Canada Acceptance email that you received when you were accepted to the program.

I have a criminal history (caution or conviction). Am I eligible for the program?

Participants must be honest and forthcoming about any criminal history that may appear on their police check.

Acceptances will be made on a case-by-case basis, considering the other factors of their application.

Participants with a criminal background may not be approved for their work permit and therefore would be unable to participate in the Camp Canada program.

Your conviction may affect your admission to Canada. Before proceeding with your application, you will need to apply for an eTA (Electronic Travel Authorisation) to ensure you can travel to Canada.

Details of your conviction and your police check will be shared with your camp employer. It is important to note that your camp will assess your employability at their discretion, and they may have some queries regarding the offence.

I need an address for my police check

If you need to supply an address for your Camp Canada police check, you can use the following:
